The 2.0 EcoBlue is a belt-in-oil diesel. Which Ford vehicles carry it, and which engine you have, is confirmed from your registration.
Component makers describe the 2.0 EcoBlue as a belt-in-oil engine. Ford's own timing belt service programme (20B44) names Transit and Transit Custom vans with this engine, and the reported interval change names the Tourneo too.
The Ford documents we could read do not say whether power output or build year changes the belt requirement. Seb confirms your exact vehicle from your registration before he quotes.
Older Transit diesels and other Ford engines are checked individually and are not covered by this package unless Seb confirms them. The Ranger has its own Ranger page.
A DVLA online vehicle check shows engine size and fuel type but not an engine code, so it cannot settle this on its own. Your handbook or a Ford dealer using your VIN can confirm the engine, or send your registration to Seb.

What to look out for on a Ford 2.0 EcoBlue.
Ford's 20B44 letter lists warning messages among the signs of a failing belt on affected vans. If a warning appears, stop somewhere safe and get advice before carrying on. We have not read Ford's handbook wording for the oil pressure light on this engine, so check yours.
Ford's letter says a failed belt could cause loss of power, and loss of brake and steering assistance. A van that loses power on the road needs attention straight away.
Component makers say to check for fuel contamination of the oil, and Ford links high oil dilution and degradation to reduced belt life on affected vans.
Component makers say the oil pump strainer should be checked for debris whenever this belt is replaced.
These signs can have other causes and do not prove a belt fault. A wet belt does not always give a clear warning before it fails, so do not rely on symptoms alone. If you notice any of them, send Seb your registration and what you have seen.
Trade press (Fleet News, quoting Ford) reports that Ford shortened its recommended replacement interval for the timing belt, tensioner and idlers on 2.0 EcoBlue Transit, Transit Custom and Tourneo models, from 10 years or 150,000 miles to 6 years or 100,000 miles. We could not find Ford's own notice for this, and many garage sites still print the older figure, so treat the number as reported and confirm it for your van.
Check your Ford service schedule or ask a Ford dealer with your VIN. This page does not give one interval for every EcoBlue application.
Seb's package covers the timing belt kit, oil pump belt, auxiliary and water pump belt and timing cover, 10 litres of engine oil and an oil filter, the oil strainer and sump pan, and the crankshaft idler pulley and crankshaft pulley bolts. The full list is above. The water pump itself is a separate £100 extra.

Ford has said that high levels of oil dilution and degradation can reduce the service life of the timing belt on affected vans. Component makers add that belt-in-oil engines need the oil the manufacturer specifies. If your van does lots of short runs, tell Seb when you message him.
Ford issued a service programme, 20B44, for some Transit and Transit Custom vans with the 2.0 EcoBlue. It offers an inspection and, if reduced belt life is found, a free replacement by a Ford dealer. The copy of the Ford letter we found has no date and does not say which vans qualify, so ask a Ford dealer to check your VIN.
Roses cannot say whether your van is eligible, or whether independent work would affect any Ford support. If you think Ford may help, check with them before arranging a repair.

Before going out on my own I worked on BMW, Škoda, Citroën, Peugeot and Ford vehicles, and most recently with the RAC's mobile mechanics division. At TrustFord I regularly carried out around three Transit timing belt replacements a week.
TrustFord experience is from Seb's past employment. Every job carries a 12-month parts and labour warranty. Roses Mobile Mechanics is an independent business, not affiliated with or endorsed by BMW, Škoda, Ford, Citroën, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Stellantis or the RAC.

No. The 2.0 EcoBlue is a belt-in-oil engine, but other Transit engines differ. Send your registration and Seb will confirm your engine.
Transit and Transit Custom vans with the 2.0 EcoBlue, which are the models named in Ford's service programme. Other Ford vehicles are checked individually. The Ranger has its own page.
Trade press reports Ford's interval for 2.0 EcoBlue Transit, Transit Custom and Tourneo as 6 years or 100,000 miles, down from 10 years or 150,000 miles. We could not find Ford's own notice, so check your Ford schedule or ask a dealer with your VIN. A belt can be due even when the van drives normally.
Ford has said high levels of oil dilution and degradation can reduce belt life on affected vans. Fuel can get into the oil during diesel particulate filter cleaning and on short journeys.
Ford has a timing belt inspection service programme (20B44) for some Transit and Transit Custom vans. We could not confirm which vans qualify or whether it is open today, so ask a Ford dealer to check your VIN.
